Got to see this fall tour! dont want to miss out on this incredibleness!
Incredible. Indescribable. Unbelievable. Remarkable. Crazy.
Just a few of the words i can use to describe my day at warped tour, Milwaukee. And believe me these words don’t even do it justice. First off we got there early because we had vouchers for Music Saves Lives, which is an awesome organization in which you donate blood and get a voucher for free water and exclusive meet and greets, and if your are first 150 people at the booth on your warped date you get backstage for majority of your stages. this really made my warped incredible. my friend, her cousin and i got to the venue at 8:30, when doors open at 11:00 to ensure we got our backstage wristband. then this band (honestly dont even remember there name) asked us to post posters all over the venue so we got in early. even though putting up almost 500 posters was HARD work it was worth it cause i was part of the set up and saw a lot of band members walking around :) after putting up all the posters we went to get our wristbands and then as a member of the SUMMER SET, street team, i had to put up posters with set times all over the venue. so i went to the tent cause i heard jess and brian where there and i got pictures and gave them this scrapbook page that i made and they loved it! after hanging up posters i went back to there tent bought my merch and talked with dylan dagan (merch guy-nicest guy ever!) then i met up with my friend and her cousin to watch the cab and we the kings on the main stage! they were both great shows! then we went backstage to see THE SUMMER SET :)and on my way back there we saw tanner from disco curtis and talked with him, really sweet guy! when we got backstage anarbor was playing and summer set was getting ready but i still got to sneak in a pic with JOHN GOMEZ and JOSH MONTGOMERY! it was incredible! durring there set we were 2 feet away from alex marshall and alex deleon of the cab as well as dylan :) they are such a great show!!!! the summer set is just an awesome band made up of such awesome people! i was soo happy to be backstage for them, it really made my day! truly incredible. after there set i went to meet disco curtis since i missed there set bc it was at the same time as the summer set, but im still a huge fan. there i talked with aj, garret, brenndan, and tanner :) they are soooooo sweet! just incredible people. my freind and i also got to meet joey thunder the bass player for the cab, he was also a sweetheart. then we went to watch artist vs poet and hey monday! both where incredible shows, great talent! if you havent done so already, go check out hey monday’s new songs! but after hey monday we went to wait in line to meet travis clark from we the kings, and also ended up meeting dan, the drummer. it was a cool experience! we also ran into craig, from artist vs poet. hes adorablee :) after that we headed over to watch NSN backstage, where we once again ran into the summer set, disco curtis, and joe and jason from artist vs poet. jason dean is adorable and such a sweetheart! backstage is where i also got to talk to stephen gomez from the summer set! so my day was finally complete! to make it even better as we were leaving the venue artist vs poet was selling there cd’s so i got pics with the rest of the band! it was seriously a day i will never ever forget!
amazing!
1. “this gravity”, disco curtis: this song is an awesome upbeat song with great lyrics. its their newest release that you can check out on myspace untill july 27th when it is for sale on itunes. great use of that 99 cents!
2. “Wish you were here”, hey monday: this newer release is one of my favorite hey monday songs :) its really meaningful with the lyrics but still has a clever sound to it and cass’s voice sounds incredible. really great jam.check it out on hey mondays myspace. the album comes out AUG 17th! (available for preorder)
3. “You belong with me” covered by The Summer Set. YOU NEED TO HEAR THIS SONG! every single time i listen to my ipod i listen to this song. im not a fan of taylor swift :/ but the way they changed this song to fit their style is incredible and it gives me chills. go buy re-released love like this with love like swift bonus cd at walmart..its only 10$. totally worth it! :)
4. “Vegas Skies”, The Cab. I loveeee this song! the lyrics and sound is just so beautiful. every time i hear this song it gets my hyped for warped! its a little slower but still an awesome song worth listening to. check it out on the “whisper war” album.
5. “Favorite Fix”, Artist vs Poet. This is such a catchy upbeat song, veryyy cleverly written. its different yet still exciting! i reallly love the whole “favorite fix” album. everyone should check it out! artist vs poet is flowwwing with talent.
6. “In the next room”, Neon trees. checkkk this band out! they are the ones who sing that popular catchy ‘animal’ song. i bought their album on itunes and am still thoroughly addicted. this song itself is ALWAYS stuck in my head. the lead singer just has a captivating voice. go check out their album “habits”
7. “Passenger Seat”, The Summer Set. I love the summer set. no avoiding that subject. this song is just really influential in my life and so easily to relate to. Its a pretty song yet still upbeat enough to not put a damper on your playlist :) honestly if you don’t own “love like this” go buy this debut album. you honestly wont regret it!!!! I feel like this song in particular is the most underrated song on the album so give it some loving :)
8.”Say(half past nine)”, Hot chelle rae. i fell in love with this bands cd about 5 months ago and still listen to it everyy day! they have unique sound that still sticks them in the “alternative/pop/punl” genre. this song is a different upbeat catchy tune. check out their album “lovesick electric”!
9. “jersey”, mayday parade. Loveee this band. they keep harder rock alive in a more pop genre. great song. i love all of their music so just check out any of their music!
10. “Tripping Down the Freeway”, weezer. recently saw weezer live and was BLOWN away! just incredible. this song is from their most recent album “raditude” its a super catchy fun, life loving song! its just a funnn song! check out all weezer if you arent fimilar yet. you havent lived til you fall in love with weezer music ;)
well this is my summer playlist! if you have questions just let me know, im ALWAYS listening/discovering new music so i love to give people suggestions! feel free to ask away!
hahah lasttt night i had an incredible dream. we were at a school assembly and my friends and i were walking into our gym and we saw the summer set sitting amongst the students and the row behind them was wide open so of course im going to go over and sit with my FAVORITE band :) ahhhhh. i was talking and laughing with josh, jess, and brian, stephen bc they were RIGHT in front of me and john was a littel farther away. the person speaking kept yelling at us to be quiet and we would all just laugh harder. then at one point i looked over to john to talk to him and some girl was lifitng up her shirt and he was signing the side of her body. weird but incredible <3
maybe i should go to sleep right now ;)
this is what i probably get for thinking about how excited i am for warped RIGHT before i go to bed, im NOT complaining :D
the summer set is out on warped tour! make sure to check them out at a venue near YOU! :)
boys you do music video! :)
FLORIDA…”in the eyes of a teenager”
wow i actualy did something today! alert the world…I KNOW! :)
i woke up at 9:30,showered, and got ready…yea yea yea i know boring boring boring. all teenagers do that (except for the fact that most dont wake up till noon…sorry im not much of a sleeper inner) but then i went shopping…oh wait more boring typical teenage stuff! :P haha. well then i went to family friends house to help with their rummage sale. well i was happily welcomed by the sweetest boy, leo. he was a wonderful 2nd grader who was full of joy and super energetic. just your typical child boy except he was restrained in an electronic wheelchair- chair. he was so happy and welcoming and was happy to see a new face at this rummage sale that is occuring to help his family raise funds for them to remodel their bathroom. so you know that whole “life changing moment” well i might not have been changed forever today but i was most definitely reminded on how lucky i am..at least i realize im on the right path :) im very blessed and i can do almost anything i want to whenever i want to because i am capable. its something that i, almost every teenager, and you know what almost every human takes for granted, sadly.
remember how lucky you are today, count your blessings, and say thanks!
